By connecting with the earth through Permaculture Retreats we learn how the elements and patterns in nature work. This assists us in adapting to changes in our environments with a greater sense of confidence. By connecting with our inner selves during Forest Retreats we rejuvenate ourselves and potentially heal some of our emotional wounds as well.
Permaculture Retreats
I use Experiential Retreats to both teach a principle and demonstrate a skill that can be applied in nature as well as to your life.
For example, a desire to transform the rubbish in your garden into a compost heap which you can use to mulch your plants may lead you to explore one on the 12 Principles of Permaculture: Produce No Waste.
On the retreat I provide you with information on how to create a compost heap and demonstrate how it is done. This is a workshop component. You then use this experience of creating a compost heap to reflect on the different types of emotional rubbish in your life that you want to transmute into strength that supports you in facing life’s challenges. This is the retreat component.
This is offered as a group booking to schools and organisations on dates that are mutually agreed upon.

Forest therapy research found that when our rhythms synchronize with nature our comfort levels rise.It was also discovered that phytoncides, the essential oils released by trees and plants, assist in slowing the breathing, reducing anxiety and supporting immune system recovery. It is a natural aromatherapy! This research was carried out in Japan by Yoshifumi Miyasaki in a bid to decrease medical expenditure.
In addition to the therapeutic benefits that you may obtain by simply being in a forest, trees also have the capacity to mirror for us our desire for connection with our innate intelligence which transcends our rational understanding. It is this capacity that is utilized during Blue Blue Earth Forest Retreats to produce a Tree Self-Portraitwhich is used as the bones in my shamanic readings.
This is a group offering for a maximum of 12 people- Every first Sunday of every month from 10:00-16:00GMT.
